ABOUT
Courtney Zeni is an author and scientist with a passion for bringing untold stories to life- especially those that illuminate the overlapping nature of science and art.
Courtney loves writing speculative fiction, whether it be in novel form (LIMINAL) or in children’s books, as well as dark comedy (including essays and screenplays).
Courtney loves to indulge in the beautiful things in life that make her think or see the world differently. She prides herself in having a childlike sense of wonder and dark sense of humor, something she attributes to growing up in New Jersey.
Courtney has her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and her foundation in writing was built in communicating highly-complex scientific concepts to different audiences. In non-fiction, she has authored dozens of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and presented these data at many prestigious international scientific and medical conferences.
In 2022, she was named “Woman of the Year” by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, a nomination that came from her peers for her vision and leadership in science. More information about Courtney’s non-fiction writing can be found in her CV, PubMed, and LinkedIn links.
Courtney is an active participant in Book Inc. and member of Project Write Now and has been featured on their author website as well as in live storytelling events such as Firefly: Stories Out Loud. She was accepted into and completed the Spring 2024 Highlights Whole Novel Workshop where her debut novel was critiqued by established, published authors.
Descriptions of fiction writing can be found in the PORTFOLIO tab.
